Help! I can’t find my keys!

Three months of nothing. No new photos. No blog entries. Rarely on my YM or MSN. I’ve received emails and phone calls from family and friends asking me how and where I’ve been. It has been tricky tracking me down. And for a good reason. I’ve been hiding. Kinda.
I’ve got heaps of photos to upload, random stories to write, snippets of wisdom (ehem) to share with you all, but I’ve just been really tired. Not physically busy with thousands of errands to do. Just tired. Lethargically so. A tiredness that seeps through the bones and finds its way into the soul.
And what made me write finally?
Lost keys.
Yup, for about two days now, I’ve been looking for my car and house keys!
About three weeks ago, in an attempt to wrestle the grey cloud that seems to follow me, I thought what better way to beat this than to get busy. And while I’m at it, why not start simplifying and de-cluttering as well.
As if on cue, there was my key ring, with keys and trinkets I’ve collected over the years, a collection of memories and souvenirs from previous offices, gyms and flats, staring me back with a challenge.
With cold-hearted determination, I removed each key, ignored any whisper of sentimental attachments and focused on its practicality. A few minutes later, I was left with my car and house keys. And a maglite, with a flat battery, which I decided to keep for its functionality.
Two keys. Almost symbolic of what my life has been about this past couple of years. My car and my house. On a superficial level, these represent my major purchases, financial decisions and "grown up" responsibilities. But really, it has been about a journey. Whether it has already ended or just getting started, I can’t tell. A curious wanderer. A traveling dreamweaver. A series of hopeful sighs.
Hopeful of what?
To find my keys.
Now, that would be a good start.
P.S. I’ve looked everywhere. On, in and under beds, cabinets, drawers, wardrobes, boxes, pots, pans, suitcases and all kinds of bags. All rooms in the house too. Bedrooms, kitchen, toilet, dining and living area. And that also includes outdoor spaces from where I’ve parked my car to the backyard and garden.
